Leonard's grandson Graham Lovelock relates that in 1955 his grandfather had seen a request for sponsorship to New Zealand by a Norman Lovelock and he agreed to act as sponsor simply because of the surname. He was not related to nor had any connection otherwise with Norman Lovelock.

Norman Harold Lovelock was a member of the Wallingford Line.
