Note | Peter Hosking supplied the following item from the New South Wales Police Gazette of 7 March 1866: 'A warrant has been issued by the Maitland Bench for the arrest of Henry Evans O'Leary, charged with stealing a tin-case and a trunk, containing wearing apparel, the property of George Lovelock, Sydney. He is about 30 years of age, 5 feet 7 inches high, slight build, very dark complexion, black hair, dark eyes; dressed in dark tweed suit, and felt hat turned up in front, with red turban. This offender left Maitland for Melbourne, per steamer "Blackbird", under the name of Bradley.' Henry Evans O'Leary eventually married George's wife Julia Hornsey following George's death. |
