I think it's likely that 'Linum' is Lyneham (aka Lineham I believe), and therefore a pretty good clue to where they 'fit in'. The only likely candidate I can find in our data is indeed in "The Lyneham Line": Jacob Lovelock b. Preston, Lyneham, Wilts, bap. 31 May 1846, Lyneham, Wilts, and we have him marrying a Jane Wilkins, but apparently no details of any children. The age entered for him in 1891 obviously doesn't quite fit - it's pretty clearly 42 in the image; but wife Jane being born at (presumably) Hilmarton, which is in the same part of the county (nr Calne), does seem to suggest this is our man. James Loveluck 7-Jun-07: I agree with Robin that Jacob Lovelock bap 31 May 1846 at Lyneham is the most likely candidate, even though his age is even further off in the 1881 record. However, I notice that Jane also changes from being 33 in 1881 to 40 in 1891. From FreeBMD the marriage of Jacob Lovelock to Jane Wilkins was in the June quarter 1873 in Calne RD (vol 5a page 145). From the census data, son Arthur would have been born about 1875/76.
