Citation details: MI B9/56 Flat stone; sandstone;good condition;facing up (fr om Ron Davies' Web site) Text: Here lieth intombed the body of John TURPIN, mariner, born at Messingham in Lincolnshire Sept 13 1736/ Son of Wm TURPIN & Eliza his wife of Grove/ in this parish who departed this life at Sept 16 1756/ Let no man remove his body./ Also Frances TURPIN of Hall in the parish of Pyle/ brother to the said John TURPIN/ He departed this life Jan 16 1809/ aged 79/ In loving memory of William/the son of Robert and Elizabeth / LOUGHER HERNIMAN who died at / Southerndown in the parish of / St Brides Major on March 8th 1857/ aged 4 days/ "Thy will be done"./ Also in loving memory of the/above Elizabeth LOUGHER HERNIMAN / who died at Ogmore in the above/parish on Nov 3rd 1906/ aged 77 years/ "For so he giveth his beloved sleep"/Psalm CXXVII.2 / Also Robert LOUGHER son of Elizabeth LOUGHER HERNIMAN / who died at Kansas, USA/ June 9 1910/ aged 51 years.
